Fritz Karbaum joins Athlon as Chief Financial Officer

Fritz Karbaum is part of the Athlon Executive Committee as Chief Financial Officer since 1 January. In this role, Fritz is responsible for Finance and Controlling across Athlon. He succeeds Christian Rottenkolber who has been appointed CFO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services North America.

    Fritz Karbaum joins Athlon from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Korea, where he was Managing Director since 2021. He brings in over 30 years of international experience within the Mercedes-Benz Group. Fritz started his career in 1991 and went for his first overseas assignment to the United States in 1997. The following year, he became CFO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) in Argentina. He also held Finance and Controlling positions for MBFS in Brazil, Italy and Singapore and led MBFS Greece as Managing Director for two years. Fritz is fluent in 5 languages and holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Heidelberg.
